Our partners in the festival Field System gallery are fast carving out a reputation for themselves as being at the forefront of the new folk revolution. Showing work from Dartmoor artists, and bringing some of the most creative artists in the UK to Devon, Field System will be showing Lore and Land III. If the first two Lore and Land exhibitions are anything to go by this will an intriguing, thought provoking and occasionally bizarre take on Westcountry folklore – myths, traditions, spirits and more.
The four South West artists who have put together the Lore and Land project are Libby Bove, Gemma Dunnell, Abigail Tinnion, and Asha Uberoi – joined this time by George Radford who will be creating a new sound art work for the show.
There will be two informal Lore and Land Meet the Artists events on Saturday 24 May, 11am-1pm, and Sunday 25 May, 2-4pm, in the gallery so come along and find out more about the artists and their work, and chat folk, talismans, otherworlds and more! No need to book, just turn up.
