Ashburton Artists & Artisans Open Studios 2025
Friday 30/05/25 – Sunday 01/06/25, around Ashburton, Field System, Ashburton Arts Centre
Visit local artists and artisans on a walking trail around the moorland town of Ashburton.
2024 saw the first Ashburton Artists & Artisans Walking Trail featuring nearly 30 artists ad artisans exhibiting around the town in studios and galleries, over a long weekend at the end of May. The event was a great success with many venues welcoming over 300 people to their exhibitions with people coming from as far afield as Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset especially for the event.
Sculpture, painting, ceramics, digital art, textiles, jewellery, paper, printmaking, woodwork, mosaic and so much more.
In 2025 AAA are repeating the event during the weekend of Friday 30th, Saturday 31st of May and Sunday 1st June. There are a similar number of exhibitors lined up with many new participants taking advantage of this unique opportunity of exhibiting in their local town for the first time. There will be a Guide and Map for the event which will list of all the exhibitors and a link to their website or Instagram pages. The event is planned so that it is possible to walk around all of the exhibitors from the centre of Ashburton. Visitors wishing to visit every exhibition are advised that it would probably take 2 days for you to complete the walking trail and fully appreciate all the work on show.
This year Field Systems Gallery in West Street will become the hub for the Walking Trail with a large scale map on display for visitors to view together with an item form each artist or artisan on display. AAA are also collaborating with The Dartmoor Tors Festival and Ashburton Arts Centre, linking events together and enabling visitors to the town to get a unique insight into the history, culture and arts of Ashburton and Dartmoor.
