Workshops with Lore and Land III artists at Field System Gallery, Ashburton

Saturday 24/05/25 10:00 – 13:00 & Sunday 25/05/25 14:00 – 17:00

Join artists from the Lore and Land collective for a workshop creating artefacts inspired by land art, psychogeography and nature, and exploring the connections between creativity and place.

Gemma Dunnell, Abigail Tinnion and Asha Uberoi are exhibiting in Field System gallery during the Festival in an intriguing, thought provoking and occasionally bizarre take on Westcountry folklore – myths, traditions, spirits and more.

Join them for a deep dive into their work and inspirations, with time both in the studio and out of doors, exploring the historic surroundings of Ashburton, an old town steeped in traditions and stories. The three hour workshop will start with a tour of the exhibition, finding out more about the show and the motivations of the artists. There will then be a creative session in the studio, involving traditional hand-work and crafting, to make artefacts including zines, trinkets and trinket bags. This will be followed by a gentle walk around the back streets of Ashburton where participants can make their own art, fill out their zines and collect items of interest with which to fill their trinket bags.
