“It’s hard to put into words how incredibly moving it was to be a part of….Receiving and giving blessings, we walked with full hearts feeling connected and grateful…it will stay with me a long time and I hope we get to celebrate with you again next year..”
Thank you to everyone who joined in with our closing ceremony, Gudula’s Gathering, a community pageant and well dressing to reflect on and give thanks for the land and the water it gives us, and to celebrate the dawning of summer.
We could not have done this without the support of Dartmoor Preservation Association who helped us in so many ways, not least with the input of Helen Bruce who embodied St Gudula so beautifully. And also a huge thanks to Kirsteen McNish who co-curated the event as well as embodying the River Avon. Also to Rachel Dawson who personified the River Teign so enchantingly, and the musicians including Mike McInerney and Carolyn Adcock who helped create such a great atmosphere. And it was so kind of Growing Space to provide the beautiful wreath and posies, and the Dartmoor Herbalist who provided natural confetti.
And of course huge thanks to Emma Stoner who took these incredible pictures.
And thank you to @thedevonfolk whose words we quote at the top of this post.
It was a wonderfully enriching experience for us all, a time to appreciate the beauty and bounty of Dartmoor in a communal ritual.
We hope to do it again next year….
