Tor Tales

PERRFORMANCE: Tor Tales – a story journey across Dartmoor with magical storyteller Sara Hurley

Sunday May 3rd, 11:00 – 12:15, Ashburton Arts Centre

This land of rugged rock and oak-sided valleys is alive with folk tales. Meet witch-hares and whisht-hounds, pixies, giants and Ashburton’s very own river sprite,  on a wild ride with storyteller Sara Hurley. Suitable for all ages, this event will take you to some familiar places, transformed with mysterious stories.

Sara Hurley has lived on Dartmoor for many years and, like so many of us, has been drawn to its folk tales, history and nature. She has been at the heart of many arts, school and community projects in celebration of Dartmoor, including Chasing Crockern – a storytelling performance with Lisa Schneidau, and writing and producing four Dartmoor Story films for DNPA. When she’s not out walking the moor, she works around the country as a performer and workshop leader and is often seen out and about with her outdoor visual storytelling show ‘Isabella’s Story Bicycle’.

Suitable for ages 6 – 106.

Access: Please note the event is in the Upper Studio at Ashburton Arts Centre which accessed by stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
