PERFORMANCE: Well dressing and procession – a new May ritual for Ashburton

Sunday May 3rd, 16:00, outside Ashburton Arts – FREE – All welcomebut please book tickets HERE so we have some idea of numbers.

Join the three River Spirits –  Avon, Dart and Teign – and St Gudula, the patron saint of the blind, in honour of the water that sustains life, and in celebration of the dawning of summer.

Gather greenery and flowers to adorn both yourself and St Gudula’s well, and join a thoughtful procession through the back streets of Ashburton. . At St Gudula’s Well, there will be a short well-dressing ceremony, before the parade returns, to the sound of music and drums, to Ashburton Arts Centre.

The event is being co-curated by the Dartmoor Preservation Association and Kirsteen McNish, with new music specially composed by Mike McInerny. Help and support has been provided by Kay Graymore, Andy Stacey, Sophie Pierce, Alex Murdin, Ashburton Arts Centre and Field System.

This event is kindly being supported by the Dartmoor Preservation Association.

Event is free but please book tickets HERE so we have some idea of numbers.
